EFA in UFFA (1st S12)

Hello everyone,

This is a round-up of how our UFFA entrants are doing.

Do we dare hope for EFA's first title - or titles - in the UFFA this season? :)

Enjoy!

-----

--- Gold Cup ---

In Group B, Cardiff United are crashing out after 5 defeats in their opening 5 games. But with a group consisting of 3 of the GW's best teams, it was always going to be hard for Neil Robert's side, who will be hoping for a result in their last game.

In Group C, Team Kolbotn and StrictlyButterSideUp are living in different worlds. Kolbotn has 13 points from their opening 5 games, and have thus qualified for the knockout stage, while SBSU are out with 4 points from as many games. They will have to cheer up by the fact that they're leading the EFA Prem at the moment!

In Group D, King Krimson FC and Linton Brown AFC are having problems with two sides from CFA. Linton Brown has lost their opening 5 games, and are thus eliminated, but King Krimson has a chance to overtake Tycoon Gunners if they win their internal fixture at the end.

In Group G, we find 3 EFA sides - Ariadni FC, Hi Standard FC and Thelwall Rangers. Ariadni is leading with 10 points from 4 games, and look set to qualify for the knockouts, while Thelwall Rangers - bottom of the EFA Prem as it stands - haven't been able to emulate their AEFA form last season, when they finished 3rd in the Prem - they're bottom with 1 point as it stands. Hi Standard will hope to squeeze past XEFA side Zigire in the end, but that won't be easy, as they have played one more game and have the same amount of points.

--- Silver Cup ---

In Group B, Tyrosquad F.C. are having a tough time against two MLFA clubs, being bottom with 0 points from 3 games.

In Group C, it looks like London Rock City and Phantoms will battle it out for the 2nd, and final, Last 16 spot. Rapid Pitesti have won all their games - both vs. London Rock - while London Rock have won the only games Phantoms have played. Phantoms will thus hope to beat London Rock, and snatch a point from Rapid, in order to qualify. Being a bottom side in the Prem though, not many would fancy their chances!

In Group D, Tupton FC have qualified for the Last 16, in a group that has finished. 7 points in 4 games did the trick.

In Group Group E, RockSteady FC needed a draw in their last game, against Davos United, but fell 3-5 at home, and are thus unfortunately out of it.

In Group G, F. C. Porto Kenshin has practically qualified, as Carlos' side has got 7 points from their opening 3 games.

In Group H, Athens Eureka Giants' last game vs. dream diamonds promises drama - if dream diamonds win with two or more goals vs. Athens, they win the group. Both teams have already qualified however, so in the end, it's all about pride.

--- Cup Winners' Cup ---

Queens Park Stone Age have knocked out Sacramento Forest F.C. after winning 3-2 on aggregate in the first round.

AFC Owls of Laughter have knocked out Toronto F.C. after winning 2-1 on aggregate in the first round.

Lucianos Athletic have knocked out Staple Hill Centurions after winning 2-1 on aggregate in the first round.

Little Aston Villa FC lost their opening leg against Papagoias do Rio with 1-0 in the first round.

Dynamo Sodtherest lost in the opening round after losing 4-0 on aggregate vs. Millsy Crusaders.

Caleta FC have it all to play for, after drawing 0-0 against Ajax Trees in the first leg.

--- Other UFFA Competitions ---

I will follow those more closely towards the end. This includes the Game World Cup, Grass Root Cup, World Youth Cup, and Game World Youth Cup.

Hope you enjoyed this update. :)

--- Premiership ---

-- Title Contenders --

Nags Head Rovers are currently leading the way, the old SFA side sitting top of the table with 23 points from their opening 11 games and are followed by Eastbourne Young Pensioners, who sit two points behind with the same amount of games played. They are closely followed by Hi Standard FC (same points as 2nd, lower Goal Difference) and F. C. Porto Kenshin, who has 19 points. Team Kolbotn and King Krimson FC are projected the highest points as it stands though, sitting at 5th and 6th respectively but with only 8 matches played.

-- Relegation Batte --

Phantoms currently sit bottom of the table, and will find it hard to climb above the relegation spots with their young and unproven team. Tyrosquad F.C. will be involved as well by the looks of it, with only 1 win in their opening 10 games.

RockSteady FC has conceded the most goals by far, 23 so far. However, with 3 wins to their name, they are currently sitting in mid-table.

--- Division 4 ---

-- Title Contenders --

Pompey PFC are leading the way, with 26 points in their opening 11 games. They are closely followed by Barwell Bears FC, however, who have 25 points in as many games. Currently, it looks like the only realistic challenger to those two is Zoetermeer FC, with 16 points in their opening 8 games. Sedge City is current 4th, but all teams between 5th and 7th - TCASPS Clube de Futbol, Odem Academicals, FC Bradford - have a realistic chance of challenging for that place.

-- Relegation Battle --

Dynamo Kev is currently bottom, not winning any of their opening 10 games. Anorthosis Economides Kickers and Arsenal FC are just above, with one win each, and WBB Football Club completes the current bottom 4. This means they are 18 points ahead of huddersfield town terriers, who have played 9 less games. As it stands, the current possible challengers are the current 3rd placed team, Grantchester United, and AFC Elite, who in 4th haven't lost a single game of their opening 9 yet.

-- Play-Off Hopefuls --

With places 4-7 recieving a Play-Off bearth for the final place, there are many candidates for this. Current 5th to 8th, Pauli Bhoys FC, Wesley's Wanderers, Frank's Blue Thai Thunderwackers, and Passionate Black Eagles F.C., for example. Stonehouse FC at 10th are also looking good, only having played 9 games so far. But there's a long way to go, and a lot can change.

Division Four Update (1st S12)

By: Dennis Moberg

Hi fellow Division Four members,

This is a small update on the teams in our League. :)

--- Division Four Update ---

Starting from the bottom, we have three teams yet to record a win. FC Bradford, Dynamo Kev and Anorthosis Economides Kickers will all hope to improve on that record, to survive in this league, where the bottom four teams gets relegated. GA United completes this, but the season has just begun, and a lot can still change.

Currently holding the lower mid-table positions are Little Aston Villa FC, WBB Football Club, Lincoln FC and Arsenal FC. WBB has currently lost the most games in the league - 6 - out of his first 8 games, but with the other two being wins, they still have a 10th place to their name as it stands - even though they've conceded the most goals (14) as well.

The upper mid-table positions are being held by Sedge City, Gerber FC, TCASPS Clube de Futbol and Rapier FC. All these clubs have come off to steady starts, not losing more than they've won, and Gerber FC in particular has a nice start with 3 wins and 1 loss in their opening four fixtures. Also worth mentioning is Sedge City, who has won four games but lost four as well, and also has scored 13 goals but conceded 13 as well. That's consistancy!

Top 4 - those who will get promoted to Division Three - is currently inhabited by Pompey PFC>, Barwell Bears FC, Zoetermeer FC and Odem Academicals. They all got in common that they 1) win many games (20 wins between them), and 2) they don't lose many games (3 losses between them). Pompey PFC, the leaders, has scored the most goals (18 ), and also has the best goal difference (+12). Yes, I know it's hard to be objective since it's my own team, but I'm starting to feel that I got realistic chances of getting my first title since... That's right, never! ;)

--- Top Performers ---

The total best Avarage Rating in the league is 7.63, but then has only played 2 games. To make it more fair, we'll only list those who have played at least 5:

James Brown - 7.42, 9 games (Barwell Bears FC)
Eldin Vidic - 7.41, 9 games (Pompey PFC)
Tiago Targino - 7.41, 6 games (GA United)

Let's go through the three who have scored the most goals as well.

Eldin Vidic - 8 goals, 9 games (Pompey PFC)
Ridge Munsy - 6 goals, 9 games (Sedge City)
Édgar Iván Pacheco> - 5 goals, 6 games (GA United)

And then we'll have the Fun Fact of the week - what team has recieved most red cards so far?

WBB Football Club - Cristian Ferreiro being the main offender.

--- Division Four in the Cups ---

Most of us are still in the Evening FA Challenge Cup, that only consists of teams from Division 4 and 5. So I fully expect that one of us wins this, and gets a spot in the Cup Winners' Cup - not every day Division Four teams gets that chance. ;)

I'll go more in depth as the cups starts approaching the latter stages - but if any of you have a cup tie to share with us, feel free to mail me and I'll share it here. :)

---

Hope you enjoyed the Update. :)
